Easter at Baba's
Joe and Laurie invited us to Boise for Easter weekend. In true Baba style, Laurie had a beautiful Easter basket for Kate and had planned for her first Easter Egg Hunt. Laurie had 19 eggs for Kate to find, each filled with one jelly belly. Kate was fascinated with the process of gathering the eggs and then figured out how to open them. I am sure you can guess what happened next, 19 jelly bellies into Kate's little pot belly. No wonder Kate's new favorite sign is "candy."

Been a long time...
Who could say it better than Led Zeplin "...been a long time, been a long lonely time..." Well- a lot has transpired in our little family, the most expensive being my incident on the stairs which left me with two plates and eight screws in my left leg. It's cool- I get to live at Hotel Laurie. I am just trying not to think about the next 8 weeks of crutches and wheel chairs. I guess I finally have a valid excuse not to go to the gym.
So, in order to make good use of time at Hotel Laurie, I will be a good blogger while on dissertation breaks (that was for you, babe). Get ready for the Gabrielsen's to get caught up!
First catch up- Kate and Jaimee visit Nanna and Pappa in Washington.
Top five Washington funnies...
1. Kate learned to say "Shhhh" with her mouth and her finger, because Pappa finally had conference weekend to take a few naps. Every time she walked past his room or saw him she said "Shhhh."
2. Kate wanted to eat breakfast with her sunglasses on... maybe it was because she and Mamma had not had their morning eye opener of Diet Coke???
3. Mom was appalled that I let Kate feed herself (aka mess-ville) "I never let you kids feed yourselves and make such messes." Maybe that is why you never ate meals, Mom. So glad you eat now!
4. Dad didn't get to watch all the westerns he wanted, instead, he made friends with Roger, Anita, Pongo, Perdita, and 99 spotted puppies.
5. Kate got her first pair of breast cancer (pink ribbon) shoes. She LOVES them!
